❓ What is SCIM?

SCIM is an open standard API (REST and JSON) that automates the exchange of user identity information between identity providers and SaaS applications, enabling automated provisioning and deprovisioning.

⚙️ How Does It Work?

When a user is created, modified, or deleted in the IdP, a SCIM API call is automatically sent to the target application. The app creates, updates, or deactivates the user account accordingly.

📍 Where Is It Used?

Any SaaS application supporting SCIM — Salesforce, Slack, Zoom, Workday, ServiceNow, and hundreds of others.

💡 Real-World Example

A company adds a new employee in Entra ID. Entra ID's SCIM provisioning automatically creates accounts in Salesforce, Slack, Zoom, and ServiceNow within seconds — no IT ticket, no manual work, no missed applications.
